Many would argue Stüssy does not need any introduction as the brand has rooted itself in the fashion world since the 80s, we do believe it never hurts to freshen up the mind.

Stüssy might be the brand that encapsulates what streetwear used to be and what streetwear is in the modern era. The brand, which was founded by surfer Shawn Stüssy, was sold from the back of a car with branded t-shirts. Even before the famous ‘Stüssy’ logo was put on shirts it was put on surfboards as Shawn Stüssy actually made and shaped surfboards for a living. After getting broad recognition it expanded to brick and mortar stores and worldwide speciality retailers.

While Stüssy the man left the company behind in ’96 the brand continued to grow and expand. The cultural impact the brand has is still immense. Though it is categorized as streetwear, the reality is that a diverse sum of people wears the brand and adapts it into their lifestyle. It breaks with the traditional view of what streetwear is and how it should be worn, all because of the cultural power the brand has grown into.

Because of this very reason Megusta saw Stüssy as an important addition to the new basement space, which features street & cult brands that are mixable with the high-end brands we carry. We want to motivate customers to shape their own identity by offering an eclectic mix of brands and styles that still sit well together.
